Welcome from the Superintendent

Welcome to the award-winning, nationally recognized Connellsville Area School District, covering roughly 215 square miles in Southwestern Pennsylvania. We are a diverse learning community dedicated to developing respectful, responsible, and knowledgeable life-long learners. I hope you will enjoy browsing through our website to learn more about us!
Our community strongly supports public education, and one of our shared values is the belief that every student can become a successful learner. It is my personal belief that every one of our students has the potential to become a well-rounded and successful member of society. This is supported by the strong staff at CASD who, in conjunction with the community, parents, the board of school directors, business partners, and all other stakeholders, are dedicated to assuring that all students achieve to their highest potential.
We have 3 non-negotiables for the 2014-2015 school year:
1.  All students can learn in a safe environment.   This not only means physically safe, but also educationally safe.  Students need to know that they are free to ask questions, talk to teachers, and actively participate in their own education.
2.  We are all on the same team.  Successful teams in all walks of life work together, even though they don't always agree on everything.  Often, disagreement leads to better decisions, but at the end of the day, the Connellsville Area School District is a team whose primary objective is to help students become successful and to learn to their greatest potential.
3.  We are a learning community.  All stakeholders - including  support staff, teachers, community members, administrators, students, parents, etc. are part of this community.  When we interact with each other, those interactions should always be learning situations so that we all grow and improve together.
