  • 2009-2010 Additional Course Offerings        
    Senior high students now have the option to schedule two more elective courses which were recently added to the secondary curriculum for the 2009-2010 school year:        


    1. Publications
    Publications incorporates the mechanics of producing the Connellsville Area Senior High School Yearbook. Students are afforded an invaluable learning experience. Students would use Adobe Photoshop Software and software provided by the yearbook publisher. Other concepts the students would learn through this course include: sales, marketing, advertising, theme planning, page layout, photography, the importance of meeting deadlines, and other work-related skills.

    Full Year
    Offered to Grades: 10, 11, 12


    2. Advanced Music Theory
    More advanced studies in music skills are available to juniors and seniors through concentrated classes in notation, key signatures, meter signatures, terminology, and music theory.
    Credit: .5
    One Semester
    Prerequisite: Music Theory or Basic Music Theory
    Offered to Grades: 11, 12




    3. Community Service
    Participants in this course will be required to participate in activities outside of the classroom. Class experiences will take place in the classroom, in the community, and at work sites. This class is intended to create dually beneficial relationships between our students and the community. The projects which will be accepted for credit will be determined by the classroom teacher. Students must complete 50 hours of community service to receive credit for this course.
