Students Occupationally and Academically Ready

Message from the Director

Welcome to the Connellsville Area Career & Technical Center. CACTC is a comprehensive high school within the Connellsville Area School District that provides 14 quality technical programs and core academic courses on a full-time basis to 11th and 12th grade students. 10th grade students attend the technical programs only during either a morning or afternoon session, and receive all their academic courses at the high school.

The programs offered at Connellsville Area Career & Technical Center are designed for the college-bound student, as well as those preparing to enter directly into the workforce or military upon graduation. “Students Occupationally and Academically Ready” (SOAR) is a Programs of Study model that we follow. Programs of Study emphasizes the importance of following a specific academic and technical scope and sequence of courses that provides the opportunity to gain college credits for work completed at the CTC while still in high school.

At CACTC, students experience “hands-on” training through competency based learning, allowing students to progress at their own pace in an authentic setting. The skills taught and equipment used are directed by Advisory Committee members from labor and industry and postsecondary institutions who guide our programs in an effort to meet workforce demands and prepare you for high paying, high skill, and high demand jobs. Emphasis on safety, work ethics, behaviors and attitudes are reinforced by our highly qualified professional staff.

You’ll also be exposed to work based learning experiences through involvement in student clubs and organizations, community projects, worksite visits, job shadowing, internships, clinical experiences, and cooperative education directly related to each program.

You are encouraged to visit our school and consider the unique education experiences that we offer. We welcome you to tour the Connellsville Area Career & Technical Center to see for yourself how successful careers are achieved. CACTC is the place to help you reach your goals!
