Sitting on a hillside overlooking Connellsville Area High School, Junior High East has served the Connellsville community for many years. Since its recent renovation, the school has welcomed students from Bullskin Township, Connellsville Township, Springfield Township, Clifford Pritts, and Zachariah Connell Elementary Schools. Over 800 students in grades seven, eight, and nine are served by a dedicated faculty and staff who maintain a goal of providing an environment where students can find happiness, physical and mental health, and academic success. In recent years our students have not only met but exceeded the state requirements in reading and mathematics to attain adequate yearly progress on standardized exams. In addition, the staff provides many extra curricular opportunities for the students. Our students can participate in a wide range of athletic endeavors, and they may choose to belong to clubs and organizations that provide them opportunities to improve their reading, mathematic, scientific, artistic, technological, and leadership skills. Our staff realizes the important role that parents play in the educational equation of young people. We encourage you to carefully monitor your child's progress during the time he or she spends at Junior High East. Together, we can raise students who are caring, maturing scholars capable of finding greater success at the high school level and beyond.

A wise person once said that 'the real goal of education is to leave a person asking questions'. Our school enjoys an environment that values opportunities to guide and inspire students by seizing every chance to share our enthusiasm for the value of education. Working with children is one of the most important jobs in the world. We take pride in enriching lives by choosing to build community spirit among our students, parents, teachers and staff. Here's wishing you fond memories of the past and bright dreams for the future!
