Special Education
The Special Education Department's role is to ensure that students with disabilities receive an equitable and appropriate education tailored to their unique needs. This includes identifying and evaluating students, developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) with parents and staff, providing specialized instruction and resources, and ensuring compliance with state and federal laws.

Important Notice for Parents, Guardians, Students who receive special education services from the Connellsville Area School District:
By law, the district is required to keep special education records (IEP's, Er's, RR's NOREP's, etc.) for six (6) years. The permanent record which contains basic information such as demographics and graduation status is kept for 99 years.
The Connellsville Area School District will properly destroy and dispose of all hard copies of special education records six years after the student graduates or leaves the program. Please contact the Special Education office if you have any questions.
